This is a big amazing park which is a 15-minutes-drive away by a car from my home. I regard this place as a real-life fairy tale.
I really, really, really love this landscape park.
Formerly it was the residence of Ukrainian ex-President Yanukovych, the head of the state.
And before that, there was a male monastery (Orthodox). Bolsheviks blew it up in 1935. Later there were country houses of major communist leaders. Mezhyhirya park has an area of 140 hectares
There is a large number of fountains, bridges and water bodies. This is one of my favorite places in Kiev. Anyway, it's a wonderful place for rest and meditation, walking, and biking.
It's a holy relaxed place, as we say!
The park has access to the Kiev sea. There's a pier, a waterfront, a houseboat.
Better to come to Mezhyhirya on a weekday!
(The ticket costs $5)
