I was born in a small town in eastern Ukraine. I spent my childhood there and my school years, where I met my first friends, and my first love. After school, I left this small town for bigger things. At least, I thought so. It was a long time ago, but I still remember wanting to be independent. I studied, worked hard, and graduated from university, and I rarely came to my town.
There is a military conflict going on now with artillery and tanks.
At first, I would wake up thinking I had a bad dream and this could not be happening in the 21st century. Over time I became used to the idea that is not really a bad dream, but reality.
One day, I will return to my little town, see my old home where I grew up, take a walk along my favorite streets, and hug my remaining friends.
One day, when the war is over there.
