Sometimes I think I would like to run away from the big city and all the unnecessary fuss, to where I can just be alone with nature and listen to the songs of birds. I need to reboot and gather my thoughts and powers to move forward, and I know this place will help me.
Our friends bought a house in the country, in a village not far from Kiev, and we always find pleasure in making the short drive to visit them on weekends. For me, the Ukrainian village brings back memories full of light and sparkling reality that come from my childhood. I love village air, it is nothing like city air. You feel free, and the power for new ideas comes from breathing in the fresh new air.
I like long walks through the village, or meandering along a river. Lacking the chaos of city rush and bustle, my thoughts become streamlined with clarity, and this gives me the opportunity to separate the main ideas from the secondary. To some extent, I can say that this serves as a meditation for me.
What do we like to do in the village?
We like eating outdoors, and I know for a fact everything is tastier! Usually we grill meat, vegetables, and bread; and drink vine and rom.... And later in the evening, it is such a pleasure to drink tea in the garden.
We socialize, and we love talking about new inventions, science and technology projects, history, movies, and football. And sometimes, we just relax and remember funny moments from the past, and of course, laugh a lot!
I adore lying in the hammock with a book; dreaming with the running clouds; and just enjoying life.
At the end of the day, I pick some flowers and greens, buy vegetables and fruit, and finally as day becomes night, I head home; aware that this will bring those same happy moments of life.
