The Lyutezh bridgehead is an unique open-air museum, and a very outstanding military-historical museum near Kiev. The Lyutezh bridgehead is one of the bridgeheads on the west bank of river Dnepr. The official name of the Museum Reserve is   "The Battle for the Dnieper in 1943".

It is difficult to imagine the bloody battles because it is a quiet, safe, and calm park now. Kids play hide and seek and ride  bikes peacefully. You can touch real artillery guns, they are not very offensive now.

During these events 25,000 Soviet people were killed or went missing, and some 60,000 Soviet people were wounded. German troops lost 3000 men, more than 10,000 people were wounded, and over 1,500 went missing.

This terrible statistic is an important memory of the Second World War for us.
The museum park also features 410 mile of trenches, blindages, and various pieces of military equipment from the war.

We must remember our history!
